abc Wednesday D is for Drought, Deluge and Degrees

Around the world our weather is changing by degrees not the kind that measure temperature but the severity of that weather. Colder,Deeper Winters paired with longer, hotter and wetter Summer seasons point to change.

I am not going to go on about global warming,it is a fact at this point. What we do with that fact, how we take steps to adjust and adapt to these conditions is what will matter. We may have to learn to be a little colder and a little warmer throughout the year. The earth cannot support a room temperature 72 degrees F. at all times. People have become used to Air conditioning and central heating, change will be difficult for some but it needs to happen sooner than later. Human beings lived for thousands of years before these comforts were even thought or dreamed of and we are going to have to adjust our comfort level down a notch or two in the future.
The United States had 26 states in Drought conditions as of July 2012.
Today August 7th 2012 the temperature in Inland Southern California reached 105 Degrees F.

  1. It amazes me that there are still people that don’t accept that global warming is a fact. Good post. It is so true that we need to adjust to not always assuming we can set the dial on comfort. For that matter it drives me crazy to go into a store in the summer and have the air conditioning set so cold that you need a sweater to be comfortable even though it’s burning up outside. Same in the winter when stores and offices have the heat set so high it’s too hot to wear winter clothes. Totally nuts in my opinion. Carver, ABC Wed. Team

  2. Feel free to go on about global warming. The deniers are frankly ticking me off.

  3. We had a drought. Then two days ago, we received a deluge.

    • Good post. Took me back to my own SoCal days. I seem to remember that Needles was the place to hurry to if you really enjoyed HOT heat. 🙂

  4. I echo your concerns….and find it all a bit frightening…
